Previous events Dates: March 20-21, 2006 SeattleSNPs Variation Workshop Contact: Paul Keyes Course Description: The variation workshop focuses on the latest approaches for identifying SNPs and evaluating associations and linkage disequilibrium with other genetic markers. Small group discussions and computer demonstrations are used to demostrate the advantages and disadvantages of these approaches. A unique feature of our workshop is that attendees are able to submit candidate genes for variation analysis using SeattleSNP resources. We plan to accept up to five genes (average size 25 kb) a year from workshop participants. Please click here for more information. ----- Dates: April 10-12, 2006 Location: Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, CA Application deadline: January 20, 2006 Course Description: The completion of the Human Genome Project and the availability of sequences of the genomes of species ranging from fish to primates have revolutionized biomedical research. This massive availability of comparative sequence data enables biomedical researchers to efficiently sift through large genomic regions to develop and test hypothesis about the function and regulation of genes. Please click here for more information. ----- Dates: Apr 23-28, 2006 Integrative Approaches to the Analysis of Heart, Lung, Blood and Sleep Disorders Course Description: We will be offering a new workshop combining features from previously popular phenotyping and microarray analysis workshops. The new educational opportunity is titled "Integrative Approaches to the Analysis of Heart, Lung, Blood and Sleep Disorders", and will happen Apr 23, 2006 - Apr 28, 2006 at The Jackson Laboratory.
